My Approach
My core philosophy is one of wellness rather than pathology. I have a client centered, flexible
approach, meaning I pull from several different theories as indicated by the needs and desires
of my client.  This may change throughout our time together as your needs change. The
primary influences of my work are: Client Centered Approaches, Cognitive Behavior Therapy
(CBT) and Family Systems

I believe that all of life is developmental and we are designed to keep growing. Mid-life is as
important and transformational as adolescence and there is important work to do in our later
years as well.

Counseling
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a scientifically well established and effective treatment for
anxiety and depression. It has been proven to help people change core beliefs that lead to new
actions and healthier habits. CBT is a relatively short-term therapy that is more goal-oriented
and structured than many other approaches. Certainly medications have their place, but they
are not the answer on their own. If needed, I can work with your physician to find the right
treatment for you.

By nature, life involves change. Regardless of whether it is change we are striving for or
change that is thrust upon us, change is uncomfortable and we often get in our own way of
progress. In my coaching practice I help people to embrace change with courage and clarity in
order to restore balance and grow.  Your time with me may include looking at all aspects of
your life: family, friends, job, living environment, leisure time, exercise, nutrition, spirituality,
the past, present, and future.
